Wonders of World : Book Now

More than 2,000 years after ancient Greeks identified the Seven Wonders of the World, millions of people around the globe cast Internet ballots to update the list with seven new wonders. This is not the first time an attempt has been made to update the list, but this very well may be the most widespread.

The Taj Mahal in India is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The other winners are The Great Wall of China, Petra in Jordan, Brazil's statue of Christ the Redeemer, Peru's Machu Picchu, Mexico's Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza, and the Colosseum in Rome. In addition, Egypt's pyramids are honorary winners, as a tribute to their special designation as being the only remaining original wonder.

A popularity poll was organized by the private, non-profit New Open World Corporation (NOWC), with winners announced on July 7, 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Swiss-based NOWC claims more than 100 million votes were cast through the Internet or by telephone. Since nothing prevented fans, government or tourism agencies from casting multiple votes, the poll is considered "decidedly unscientific". According to John Zogby, founder and current President/CEO of the Washington-based polling organization Zogby International, NOWC drove “the largest poll on record”.

The other attraction of this poll was the unique combination of date month and year and the nominations. We have selected the New Seven wonders in the world (That is seven in count) on 7th July, 2007 (means 7th day, 7th month and 7th year of 2000).
